Summary

This week's second set from 1/15/79 is a really classic show for the end of the Keith and Donna era... It starts with an unusual but very successful sequeway - from the I Need A Miracle opener into Shakedown Street.. very powerful and it works seemlessly.. I'm also a fan of the Terrapin Station->Playin' In The Band combo that follows, as I really enjoy a powerful live Terrapin.. While this may be a short second set by some standards the band is clearly on during this show and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do..

0:00.0	Hello and welcome to Dead Pod for the week of April the 29th 2011. This is a professor. I'm so glad to pick us up this week.
0:06.0	This week we get the pleasure of listening to the second set from the show that took place on January 15th, 1979, Civic Center Arena, Springfield, Massachusetts, a show which is probably
0:16.9	not as well known as it might be.
0:20.3	We're going to hear the second set tonight which starts off with a fabulous
0:23.8	I need a miracle into Shakedown Street. I'm always a fan of these
0:27.6	on these lesser known transitions. This is one that didn't happen very often.
0:31.0	Miracle into Shakedown to open a second set, really kind of unheard of,
0:35.3	but they really nail it.
0:36.7	And especially when they go into that shakedown,
0:38.5	watch your speakers because they go full bore on that one. The second set continues with From the Heart of Me and then a
0:44.7	Terrapin into playing into drums and space back into playing. Really nice Terrapin. Jerry blows a couple of lyrics, but it's still a really nice segue, a nice set part of the set.
0:58.0	After the plan goes into Casey Jones, and then the second set ends with a Johnny Be Good encore.
1:04.0	A really nice show and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
1:08.0	I think it's quite a nice show for this era and one of the last shows for Keith Adana with the band.
