Summary

This week on the Deadpod a fine show from the spring of 1982, one often overlooked due to the notoriety of the next night's performance.

This show, from April 17, 1982 in Hartford Connecticut features quite a nice first set, with fine versions of Bird Song and Jack-A-Roe (which was still relatively new at the time). I also would call your attention to the arrangement of El Paso, which is played at a much slower tempo than the usual polka arrangement, and benefits from that difference, I think. Also an interesting set closer here with 'Man Smart, Woman Smarter'.

The first two songs in this set are from an audience source, the rest come from a soundboard.

0:10.7	band played back on April 17th, 1982 at the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford, Connecticut.
0:16.2	It was a Saturday night. We'll hear the first set this week and the second set next week. This show's
0:21.4	of course not as famous or well known as the following night, which I've played earlier on the
0:26.0	Dead Pod. That was the famous earthquake show. But the first set in particular here is really
0:31.5	interesting and the whole show is quite well played. I think you'll enjoy it. Starts out with a

0:37.8	sugary. Then a very interesting version of El Paso. I think they slow down the tempo and it works
0:44.1	really nicely. Jacaro comes next. It's a relatively rare song at the time. The Little Red Rooster,
