Summary
When Charlie Miller releases a new master reel sbd source, especially from 1973, i almost feel an obligation to get it on the Deadpod.. this is one of those rare occasions and it also coincides with a request I recently received from a contributor to the Deadpod so all signs pointed to playing this show on this week's Deadpod. This performance took place on July 1st, 1973 at the Universal City Amphitheater in Universal City CA.
As with most shows from this year, the playing in my opinion is superb. One thing you'll notice here however is that many of the songs are done with a slower tempo that you might be used to. I think it works, some think it shows the band was a bit tired at the end of a long run of shows.. judge for yourself. It may not be the best show of a marvelous year, but its definitely worth a few hours of your time :) I especially enjoy the China->Rider the transition is quite different and Phil is very interesting !
