Summary

This week the Deadpod will take you back to December 4th 1990 at the Oakland County Coliseum for a fine show that showcased the energy that Bruce Hornsby brought to the band when he joined them after the death of Brent Mydland. Highlights here for me include the Mississippi Half-Step and a wonderful Bird Song. While 'Walkin' Blues' is on no ones list of favorites, it is balanced out by a great set closing 'Valley Road'. I wish the band would've chosen to practice some of these Hornsby tunes, I know that was one of Bruce's frustrations that led him to leave later on, but this one is spot on and has some great energy.

0:17.8	Coliseum Arena, a mouthful for me today in Oakland, California. I think you'll enjoy this one. I know I do. It's one of those shows that
0:27.2	Bruce has just recently joined the band and they came back from the European tour of
0:31.6	1990 and I think they were really cranking pretty good.
0:34.8	They start out with a great jack straw Mississippi half stepcoes on quite nicely into
0:39.7	Walking Blues.
0:40.7	Candyman follows me and my uncle into Big River, Brown eyed women. and short but sweet valley road which I think hints at how much fun Vince was having and
0:55.5	I think how much more he could have contributed to the band but at any rate I
0:59.5	think you enjoy this for I hope you enjoy this first set. We'll play set two next week.
