As we countdown the minutes until 2023, you should enjoy this gem of a show from 33 years ago - December 30, 1989. I don't believe I'm engaging in hyperbole if I say this is a great second set from this period of the band's history. There's not a bad song here. Jerry smokes his leads in 'Jack Straw' and 'I Know You Rider'. This 'Estimated Prophet is one of the best ever. I even dare say the drums and space, with Airto, is one of the best you'll hear.
I'm a sucker for a great 'Standing on the Moon' and Jerry delivers on this one. This is one of those shows that makes me wish for time travel. I hope you enjoy it!

| 0:00.0 | Along with the dead pod for the week of December 30th, 2022, right on the Cusp of New Year's Eve, |
| 0:05.7 | we're going to play a great show from December 30th, 1989. This second set is quite perfect, |
| 0:11.9 | in many ways. I think you're really going to like it. It starts out with a blister in jacks, |
| 0:15.8 | during which Jerry's got some great leads here, into China Ryder, and that jam in between is perfect. |
| 0:22.2 | What do you hear Jerry do the headlight line and crowd react? It's really great. |
| 0:26.4 | You'd think that might slow down, but the estimated profit that follows is one of the better ones I've |
| 0:31.2 | heard. It's really quite good. It goes into a lovely Terrapid Space Station. Then jam's drums |
| 0:38.7 | in space with Airto, and I tell you what, this is one of the better drums you'll ever hear. Don't |
| 0:43.2 | pass this one up. You'll really like it. It's out there, and Healy does some effects with Airto's |
| 0:49.2 | voice that are quite interesting. I think you'll like it. After this wildness, we get Brent's, |
| 0:54.0 | I will take you home with a little breather, and then the other one, nicely done, into a beautiful |
| 1:00.4 | standing on the moon. They close it out with one more Saturday night, but the encore, it's all |
| 1:05.3 | over now, Baby Blue. A great show on the Cusp of New Year's Eve, and I think you'll enjoy it. |
| 1:11.5 | I hope you do, and I want to thank you all for your support of the dead pod. I couldn't |
| 1:15.1 | know without you. I really appreciate it. Hope you have a great, safe, fun New Year's Eve, |
| 1:19.6 | and see you back here next year. This is the professor you're listening to, the dead pod. |
| 2:50.4 | We can share the ribbon, we can share the wine. We can share what we got of you, |
| 3:02.5 | so we don't share all of that. |
| 3:33.5 | Why don't you sign the fence? Do the strings pop up so cheaply? |
| 3:40.4 | Ain't that listenable? |
| 3:44.0 | Really listen, it burns my eyes to see. |
| 3:49.9 | Go down the ladder to the shore, the mines will be big. |
