Summary

Here's a bit of a Christmas present from the Deadpod - a great second set from December 12, 1973 at the Omni in Atlanta.

This features a fine combination of classic tunes and some unusual combos (see Mississipi Half-Step into Me & Bobby McGee, as well as Wharf Rat> Me & My Uncle>Eyes).

All the songs here are first rate - the China >Rider is wonderful as is the GSET.. then we get a complete Weather Report Suite..Eyes of the World into Morning Dew is one for the ages..

Then, after this massive set, I've included the soundcheck for this show, which has some really fun versions and even some Holiday sounds!

0:19.9	They mix up songs which were older to them and newer to them.
0:24.3	Starts out with the Great Mississippi Halfstep into being Bobby McGee. What an unusual combination.
0:29.9	China Rider comes next. It's got a beautiful jam in between.
0:33.9	And greatest story I ever told follows that Jerry's really on fire on this one.
0:39.6	It flows nicely into a row Jimmy, and then a beautiful complete weather report suite,
0:46.6	Wharfrat, into me and my uncle, into a beautiful eyes of the world, which then goes into a great morning dew.
0:53.1	Check out Phil through that transition. It's great.
0:57.0	Really all these songs are wonderful. Sugar Magnolia closes the set. They do a Casey Jones encore.
1:03.4	And then as a little, I don't know, this was included. I had this, so I decided to include it.
1:09.1	It's songs from the sound check.
1:11.1	These are really fun, and they're loose.
1:13.9	They play it loosely.
1:14.8	They're very fun.
1:15.8	It starts out with little Christmas sounds, then rip it up blue suede shoes.
