Summary

This week we return to Munich for a second set that is ferocious from start to finish. 'Bertha' leads this one off and goes into a truly rockin' 'Samson and Delilah' that really roars. Jerry slows things down a touch with 'Ship of Fools', but they go into a nice extended jam in the 'Estimated Prophet' that follows. That one builds again to a gale force as they go into 'Goin' Down the Road Feelin' Bad'. I'm also fond of the jam in 'Space' and how Weir leads them into 'Not Fade Away'.

'Stella Blue' is as usual quite a pleasure to hear, and the closing 'rockers' that follow are still hot, if just a touch ragged on the transition into 'Good Lovin' All in all a classic very high energy Dead set.

This professor I'm so glad you could pick us up this week. This week we're going to continue

with the second set from bands performance at the Olympic Hall in Old Munich West Germany

0:13.5

back on October 12, 1981. This is a smoking set that starts out. They really burned through

0:21.6

some of these songs. They started out with a great Bertha into a Samson and Delilah, both of

0:26.9

these at break next speed, but really quite well done. That goes into Chip of Fools, Jerry

0:32.6

slows things down a little bit. Then they go into an extended estimated profit, just like

0:37.9

clocks in over 16 minutes. Really nice jam in the middle. I think you'll like it. It goes into

0:45.1

after a little bit of a tease of eyes of the world. They go into going down the road

0:50.8

feeling bad, into Brent's tune Never Trust a Woman. Drums comes next. It's quite not very long,

0:57.9

but there's a real interesting jam in the middle as they go into space. So listen for that. Not

1:02.5

fade away follows. It has an excellent build up. We're listening for we're breaking out the tune

1:09.0

as they come out of space. Really nicely done. Jerry does still a blue next. A little bit of lyric

1:14.4

flood in there, but it doesn't affect the emotional quality of the song. Then they go into a round

1:20.0

and a round and kind of an awkward transition into good love in the closes set. They come back with

1:25.6

a great US blues. There is a cut there at the end of good love and so be prepared for that.

1:31.1

Nevertheless, a very nice recording and I think an excellent show. So I hope you enjoyed as much

1:35.1

as I did. Hope you're doing well and as we zoom into fall, take care. Be well. We'll stand.

1:42.0
