Summary

This week we feature the second set from the band's performance at the Uptown Theater in Chicago Il. on January 30, 1978.

I'm quite impressed with this set. It starts off with a fine 'Bertha' which goes into an excellent 'Good Lovin', followed by 'Ship of Fools'. What follows however is over an hour of non-stop Dead magic.

'Estimated'>'Eyes' where Jerry has some interstellar noodling going into a sweet 'Stella Blue' . Then a rare triple-dose of Jerry as the band goes into a rare, late set 'Franklin's Tower' This combination of Stella>Franklins is a first and never repeated. A rockin' 'Around and Around' closes the set but they return for a signature 'Johnny B Goode' encore.

0:03.6	2023. This professor I'm so glad you could pick us up this week. This week we're bringing
0:08.8	to the second set and it's a great second set from the band's performance at the Uptown
0:12.2	Theatre. Chicago, Illinois, January 30th 1978. It was a Monday night. This second set is
0:18.3	quite good. It starts out with Bertha and a good loving. Good loving is extra. They get
0:22.4	a little extra effort on a good loving and now crowned response. Ship of Fools follows
0:27.6	them and really the highlight of this set is approximately an hour long jamming that follows.
0:32.2	We got estimated profit into eyes of the world. Some great Jerry jamming into space or would count
0:38.1	for space and then Stella Blue into Franklin's Tower. This is an unusual pairing. They do it
0:45.7	seamlessly although they have a little bit of problem at the end of Franklin's start in the
0:49.2	middle end of Franklin's Tower but they come out of it but it's really well done and they've
0:54.0	never done it before or since. Stella into Franklin's was a unique combination. That goes into a
0:59.6	rounded round to close the set and they come back. I think an appreciation for the great
1:05.8	set they just performed and do a Johnny Be Good on course. So hope you enjoy this one. I know I
