This is the Friends of History Debating Society.

I'm John Batcher with, that is some

corner of American greatness, recovering

politician looking at his time in the

Congress when he was extremely busy,

because Livonia, the 11th district in

those days, was a very close thing,

and that is, was home every weekend,

maintaining connections with his

constituency.

That gave him very little time to enjoy

the sights and the museums and the

statues and the history of Washington.

Since then, he has walked in Washington

and he's seen something alarming.

That is a very good evening too.

First I wanted to reflect on your

time as a member of Congress we talked

often in those days.

That is, when I first met, I think

outside Fox back in the old days when

Fox had dissenting opinions on the air.
