I'm Martha McCallum, and it is the first full day of Trump 2.0, the 47th president inaugurated yesterday at a minute afternoon. And Brett Baer and I covered it with our

fantastic political team who's been together all through the primaries and all through the election

year. And it has been a huge year. And I'm very glad to have Brett with me today. Hi, Brett.

Hey, Martha. So, you know, obviously yesterday felt like about three days.

It tossed.

I'm sure it probably felt that way to the new president, Donald J. Trump.

Your thoughts on what we saw yesterday, and I'm thinking a lot today about the shift that the media is going through to readjust to a president who doesn't do, you know,

a press conference once every year or a couple times a year, but literally a couple times a day

in some cases. Yeah, it's truly amazing. If you think about just that interaction in the Oval

office as he was signing executive orders

and the Q&A with reporters, including Peter Ducey, in which, you know, Peter asked about

whether President Biden left a letter and then it was, let's see, and they opened up at the

resolute desk, and there was the letter, and he said said i wouldn't have found that for a year if

you didn't ask peter and i was just all real time and yeah and it's just a much different

attitude and a much different perspective on the press um you know he's taken he took more

questions and did more interaction yesterday than I think
