0:07.0	Today we drop back in on the book of Hebrews and its rich descriptions of Jesus
0:16.6	and his supremacy over all things. Chapter 7 opens by continuing to compare him
0:21.5	to the Old Testament priest Mel Kizadik.
0:24.0	Some scholars believe he was a Christ type,
0:26.0	while others believe he was God the Sun,
0:28.0	making a special appearance on Earth before he was born as Jesus.
0:32.0	They certainly have a lot in common.
0:33.7	For instance, Melkizodak's name means righteousness,
0:36.7	and he was the king of a place called peace.
0:38.9	And when he showed up in Genesis 14,
0:40.8	he brought out bread and wine. And the author of Hebrew makes a case for Melkizadak
0:44.6	being greater than Abraham, because he bestowed a blessing to Abraham.
0:48.8	The idea of someone being greater than Abraham was probably shocking to Jewish readers.

1:03.6	is that he wasn't a descendant of the line of Levi,

1:07.6	were supposed to be descended from Levi.
1:09.7	But there's a good reason he wasn't a descendant of Levi because he lived about 500 years before
