0:13.2	Today Paul continues his letter to the church he started at Corinth.
0:16.2	You may notice that every time he rebukes him for something or addresses a problem they
0:19.3	have, he presents the gospel in response to it.
0:22.7	One of the things that shows up frequently is that those who follow Christ should view
0:26.3	every aspect of their lives through the lens of the gospel and live it out empowered
0:30.0	by the work of the Spirit.
0:31.8	This is not what the Corinthians are doing.
0:33.9	They're not only living lives of sexual debauchery, but they're praising it.
0:37.5	They do things not even the pagans do and they try to use God's grace as an excuse for

0:42.8	It's an abuse of grace.
0:44.4	We're free in Christ, they say.
0:46.6	But freedom in Christ isn't freedom to sin.
0:49.1	Freedom in Christ is freedom from sin.
0:50.8	It means we're no longer enslaved to sin and we actually have the power of the Spirit
0:54.8	to help us obey God.
0:56.8	Any version of God's grace that treats sin as no big deal is a crude misrepresentation.
1:02.4	Grace is an agent of change.
1:04.6	It's God's favor on us to help us walk according to his ways.
1:08.3	It redirects us away from the works of the flesh and toward the fruit of the Spirit.
