Hello, I'm Father Joe Roche of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception. Thank you for joining us as we continue with our year-long journey,

reading the diary of St. Maria Faustina Kovalska from beginning to end. Today, we will read a letter from Father Sopochko to Sister Faustina dated July 10, 1936.

Dear Sister in Christ, in accordance with God's will, you currently have your own director in

Krakow, in whom you should confide everything, and without his clear permission, you should not

undertake anything externally. So if he neither prohibits

nor clearly permits you to leave, you should not even consider undertaking it. Interior

impulsions should be subjected to the judgment of the director, for in them there may be a lot of one's own imagination

which comes from excessive zeal, and the latter is often a manifestation of our own actions

rather than God's activity. The will of God shall be done in all its fullness, and no power on earth, nor any darkness

of spirit is capable of thwarting God's plans. Only in fulfilling God's will, one should

remain in great peace and patience, fighting against all haste and impatience. The feast of mercy, which the Lord Jesus

demands through you, sister, will be instituted without your going to see the Holy Father.

Besides, your personal visit in Rome would not move things forward at all, but it could even do harm.

One should, first of all, prepare the ground, make the public aware of the need for such a feast,

bring about a joint request of our entire nation, and above all, of our most reverend cardinals, archbishops and bishops. And then the

institution of this feast will only be a matter of time. It is precisely for this end that I

published the booklet entitled The Divine Mercy. I have sent 150 copies of this booklet to Mother General in Warsaw, and another

150 to Mother Irina in Krakow. You can ask her for a copy for yourself. These booklets

should be disseminated among influential priests, men and women religious, as well as among

informed laypersons persons so that they can

approach their bishops who, in turn, can petition the Holy Father to institute such a feast.

With regard to the new congregation, it will also come into existence, if such is the will of God.
