reading the diary of St. Maria Faustina Kavalska from beginning to end.

Today we'll read a letter from Father Sopochko to St. Faustina from May of 1936.

Reverend Sister M. Faustina from May of 1936. Reverend Sister M. Faustina, the convent of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in Yuzavuf, Krakow, 14, Wagevniki, Post Office, Buc 79. Dear Sister in Christ, I apologize for failing to reply to your

previous letters, as I had no time during Lent, and besides, nothing new happened. I could not come

to Valendorf due to a lack of time. Thank you for your letters from which I gather

that you remain under the best direction since God himself is guiding you and is granting you

abundant graces with which you cooperate perfectly. Thank you for your prayers. I feel their effect and I need them very much,

as the situation is getting more and more difficult. At the moment, I still do not see any progress

in the matter of creating the right circumstances for the new congregation, but I do not lose hope, and I am doing what I can. The image of divine

mercy is already in St. Michael's Church. I placed it there on Low Sunday. I began to print

articles about God's mercy, and as soon as this is completed, I shall send them to you immediately.

If God would only help us to rent the ruined house you saw, sister, I could then try to restore

it, which would probably take a good few months. A week ago, I met Miss Hemplova, who is looking for a suitable congregation for herself,

but until now she has not been able to find anything.

I told her about the congregation of the divine mercy, which is to be established,

and she was very thrilled with the idea.

She is dying to meet you. I gave her your address in Volanduf and Yuzov, together with a letter for you. I do not know if she will find you

or whether she is a suitable person because I still do not know her well. She owns a certain property,

and she expressed her readiness to transfer everything to the congregation. Thank you for your

advice to act slowly, as sometimes I indeed lack patience. But God's grace continues to sustain
