0:07.0	Yesterday we met Saul a powerful half-Roman half-Jewish Pharise in Jerusalem.
0:17.5	Due in part to his violent acts against the disciples, most of them leave the city.
0:22.1	Today he decides to hunt down anyone who
0:24.3	belongs to the way, which is what they were calling the early church at that point,
0:27.4	probably because of that time Jesus said he is the way.
0:30.3	Saul goes to the high priest to get legal permission to track any Christ followers
0:35.2	down and extradite them back to Jerusalem for punishment.
0:38.2	They will not get away from him, or so he thinks.
0:41.5	God has a different plan, one in which Saul can't get away from him.
0:45.3	As Saul heads north out of the city toward Damascus which is in modern day Syria,
0:50.3	a holy lightning bolt or something like that knocks him to the ground.
0:55.0	He and the guys with him all hear a voice from heaven but don't see anyone.
0:59.1	The voice asks, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?
1:03.0	And Saul asks, who are you, Lord?
1:06.0	First of all, this is such a great question.
1:08.0	I want to keep asking this question the rest of my life.
1:11.0	I want to keep getting to know him more and more all the time. But there's also
1:15.0	something interesting in the question Jesus asks. Jesus is in heaven at the right hand of the
1:20.0	Father, so how can Saul be persecuting Him? In this question, Jesus makes it clear that he has
1:26.1	united himself with the Church. One of the images we see in Scripture is that He is the head
1:30.9	of the body, and the head is both aware and impacted when the body hurts.
