0:13.2	Today we finished our 36th book of the Bible, and it took us seven chapters, but we finally
0:18.1	met Ezra, the man who this book was named after.
0:20.7	He's a scribe descended from Aaron the High Priest.
0:23.6	He lived in Babylon turn Persia until he left to return to Jerusalem during the reign of
0:28.0	King Arta Zerxes of Persia.
0:30.1	Remember King A from the book of Esther?
0:32.1	His full name was Ahashuerus, but he was also known as Zerxes, and Arta Zerxes is
0:36.4	the King who came after Zerxes.
0:39.2	So this is all happening after Esther's husband dies.
0:42.4	But a quick sidebar, this new King is almost certainly not Esther's son.
0:47.0	Most scholars don't attribute any children to Esther.
0:50.1	The events starting in chapter 7 are taking place roughly 60 years after the first six

0:55.8	He opens with a letter to Ezra from King Arta Zerxes of Persia.

1:14.3	He also tells Ezra to appoint magistrates and judges who will teach and enact the laws
