0:00.0	Hey Bible readers, I'm Tara Lee Cobble, and I'm your host for the Bible recap.
0:13.2	Today we finished our 33rd book of the Bible, and in the next 11 days we'll be finishing
0:18.4	six more books and the whole Old Testament.
0:21.7	We first met the minor prophet Haggai yesterday in Ezra 5 where he was standing around the
0:25.9	construction site of the deconstructed temple with his buddy Zachariah, another minor prophet.
0:31.2	They were there encouraging the returned exiles of Judah.
0:34.3	Today we find out exactly what it was he said to encourage them, and we might even find
0:38.3	out the exact day he said it.
0:40.6	Scholars believe it was August 29th, 520 BC.
0:44.9	After the exiles returned from Babylon, their first high priest is a guy named Joshua,
0:49.3	but in today's reading it's spelled like Joshua.
0:51.9	He'll keep calling him Joshua since that's how he met him, and since we're already friends
0:56.0	with another Joshua.
0:57.9	Today Haggai has a conversation with Joshua the high priest and Zerubabal, who is the
1:02.2	local ruler over the people of Judah, and he confronts them both about the misplaced
1:06.7	priorities of the people.
1:08.6	Haggai says, look, I know you all want to put shipwrap in your houses, it's apparently
1:12.6	a thing now, but we've got more important walls to panel.
1:15.7	No matter what you do to your homes and your wardrobes and your lifestyles, it will never
1:20.0	be enough.
1:21.0	You'll always want more.
1:22.6	Stop scrolling Instagram and Amazon long enough to face that reality.
