0:13.1	Today we read about God's judgment on several more enemy nations and cities.
0:17.4	We probably won't remember all of them, and some you may not even recognize.
0:21.4	That's okay.
0:22.8	Chapter 49 is like a destruction shark cutery board.
0:25.9	It's got a lot going on.
0:27.6	We start out with Aman as in the Ammonites.
0:30.6	If you're familiar with the modern day city of Aman Jordan, then you have an idea of where

0:36.7	They're Israel's neighbors to the east.
0:39.1	God says he will drive them out of their land, but like we saw with Moab yesterday, he
0:43.6	also promises that they will experience restoration afterward.
0:47.4	And I'll be honest, I have no idea why.
0:50.0	I read 11 commentaries about this and none of them gave a reason for it.
0:54.5	Firstly, they either said, oh, hey, he did that from Moab too.
0:57.8	Or they basically said, wow, God is merciful to his enemies.
1:01.8	So maybe this is just to display his mercy?
1:04.4	Who knows.
1:05.8	Then we move on to judgment against Eden.
1:08.2	These people are the descendants of Esau.
1:10.6	You may recall that Esau is the older twin brother of Jacob Israel, who was the father
1:14.9	of the 12 tribes.
