0:13.2	We're almost finished with Isaiah, the majorest of all the major prophets.
0:17.6	Just two more days, then we'll be wrapping up book number 22.
0:21.3	So let's jump in with chapter 54.
0:23.8	Here God promises a blessing to the people of Israel.
0:27.1	He says he will enlarge his family through them, and it will include people from all over
0:31.2	the world.
0:32.4	At present, these other nations are their enemies, so it may feel like a strange blessing
0:36.2	to them, but he reminds them in the meantime that this is nothing to fear, and that this
0:40.7	time of waiting is nothing to be ashamed of.
0:43.7	He presents Israel as a bride and himself as a husband, one who redeems them.
0:49.6	He compares their current situation to what Noah and his family went through in the
0:52.9	flood.
0:53.9	There was devastation and loss, but ultimately God protected his people through the trial.
0:59.5	He promises steadfast love, a covenant of peace, compassion, not anger or rebuke.
1:06.4	And not only will he not wipe them out, but since they have a lot of enemies, he also
1:10.6	says no enemy will succeed in wiping them out either.
1:14.4	He promises security and protection of his people at large.
1:17.8	Their gates will be secure.
1:20.1	He promises to teach all their children.
1:22.9	Now, the fact that God the Spirit teaches us is such a gift.
1:29.1	Think about the best teacher you've ever had.
