0:07.0	Today we finished our 16th book of the Bible.

0:17.6	We spent some time in the Northern Kingdom of Israel and the Southern Kingdom of Judah

0:21.9	But we start out in the North with Wicked King Ahab.
0:25.2	Yesterday God sent Elijah to pronounce death on Ahab at his family, but then showed mercy
0:29.2	on Ahab when he repented.
0:31.2	When we open today we see the kings of the two kingdoms make an alliance.
0:36.0	They want to capture Raymoth Gilead, a city that was taken by Syria.
0:40.6	Before they put a strategy together, Jehoshaphat asked that they can seek God for counsel.
0:45.0	Smart move.
0:46.0	Ahab brings in 400 prophets and they all say God will grant them success.
0:51.1	Then Jehoshaphat is like, but are there any other prophets we can ask?
0:54.9	They just ask 400 prophets who are all in agreement, so why does he need another opinion?
0:59.9	If 400 out of 400 dentists agree on the best toothpaste, I'm not looking for the opinion

1:04.5	I'm just buying it.
1:05.9	But the thing is, and this is only kind of obvious in the original text, these prophets
1:10.4	weren't inquiring of Yahweh.
1:12.7	They were almost certainly the same 400 prophets of Asherah mentioned in 1 Kings 18.
1:18.7	Remember how Ahab had 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of Asherah when Elijah called
