Day 139 of Heart Dive 365. I'm your Bible study friend Kenoy. Welcome to the Heart Dive podcast.

0:12.4

Well, my mouth got me in trouble again and I needed to point out something because there were

0:17.2

several comments. So it means that I hurt more than one person, which means I will

0:21.2

publicly acknowledge it. So for those of you who saw my first upload of day 137 and the fact that

0:27.8

I said that Absalom's hair was nappy, it was a bad choice of word. I honestly did not know that that

0:35.5

was a derogatory term. I knew it wasn't a pleasant

0:38.3

word, but I wasn't trying to be pleasant. I thought it was just a descriptive word that

0:43.2

spoke of tangly matted hair. And the reason why I thought that is because I grew up with

0:49.2

curly, matted, tangly hair, and that was the word that a lot of people chose to describe my hair.

0:55.6

And I didn't grow up with a lot of racism in Hawaii. And even whenever I lived in Missouri,

1:01.0

I had friends of all skin colors. And so I think I lack a little bit of sensitivity in that area.

1:07.6

And so for that, I just really wanted to say, I'm sorry. And the action that I'll take is,

1:12.4

I will remove that word from my vocabulary. I honestly did not know that it was offensive if used.

1:18.1

And so I hope you'll forgive me. Thank you for your grace. Sometimes I get a little too comfortable

1:23.3

here, I think, because I feel like we're friends. And that doesn't excuse the usage of any kind of

1:29.1

language, but sometimes I just talk without thinking. And so, again, thank you for your mercy and

1:33.4

grace. I'm sorry if it was distracting to anybody. And I have since removed that portion of the video.

1:39.8

I re-uploaded it. I'm not going to do that for every offensive thing that happens here, but it was close enough out of the gate that I was able to go back and do that. And so I had a little bit of time so that later listeners would not have to endure that. And I know some of you all are probably like, I didn't even hear it. Well, that's the reason why. So moving on from that, welcome back to Bible study. Hope you guys are having a great weekend. If you're studying with us in real time,

2:02.4

happy Sunday. We are back in 2nd Samuel chapters 19 through 21. Again, a big thank you to Holly for

2:10.3

holding it down while she is on vacation. Can you all believe it? And she's going to be back again

2:14.7

next weekend, even though she is having fun with her family, chilling by the pool, doing some fun things. She deserves it. So we definitely give her all the grace that she needs to be able to hang out. But if you're a part of the heart dive family, we would love it if you could please hit the roll call button by hitting that like button that lets us know that you're in agreement with us, that Bible study is a good place to be, and you think that it could be helpful to others as well. And it would be helpful to subscribe and hit that notification bell as well, so you know when the videos come out each day. If you want to continue conversation, make sure you join us in our Facebook group. You can find all of that information in the description box or the show notes, or you can always check out our website, heartdive.org. If you're new to this Bible study, let us know in the comments where you're watching from, and please make sure to ask any questions or comment along the way in the comment section, because this is a big family here. We're friends, we are brothers and sisters gathering together to fellowship with God in His Word and through His Word. So we're going to do that right now. But before we do, let's go ahead and pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you for this day. Thank you for your mercies that are new this morning. Thank you for your grace, your mercy, your forgiveness. And I just pray, Lord, that as we receive it from you, that we will also be able to bestow it upon

3:24.4

others. Please forgive us of our sins. Lord, if there's anything that we are not aware of where we may have
