Taking a look at some of David's big victories today in 2 Samuel chapters 8 and 9 and

1st Chronicles chapter 18. We will again see an overlap, so we will be repeating pretty much the same narrative in two of the chapters. But again, we committed to reading every word of the Bible this year, so we are going to read through it together from the ESV by Crossway Translation. I pray that every anxiety, worry, frustration, anything they may be harboring, Lord, that is keeping them from being able to freely worship you, I pray that we'll be able to just lay it all down right now, surrender it to you, lay it at your feet, at the throne, God, and ask that you deal with it,

or at least put it on hold for this moment, that we can have this time that is just holy and sacred.

Forgive us of our sins, Lord, I just pray that you will please wash our hearts clean today,

purify our hearts, clean our hands. If there's anything that we need to do to be able to

partner with you in that process, will you bring it to mind so that we can go and make things right? If not right now, then at least later on. Help us also to forgive others, Lord. We don't want to hold anybody captive today, but we want to be set free as well as allowing them to live a life of freedom. Because that's what you did for us, Jesus. You gave us freedom by that grace and that forgiveness.

So thank you for that today. But I pray as we open your word today, Lord, that it will be that fresh manna that falls on the grounds of our hearts, nourishing our spirits and our souls. We're so grateful for your word. It never returns void, and so we're excited for what you're gonna do today in our hearts and spirits. We love you so much. Thank you for this time in Jesus' name. Amen.

Philistines and subdued them. Now remember, the Philistines were always at war with David, even though he

was friends with them at one point because he found refuge when Saul was coming against him to attack him,

but now he realizes they are his enemy.
