0:13.5	We opened today with Psalm 89, which was written by a guy named Ethan.
0:17.6	This is possibly the only Psalm he wrote, but some people think he also went by the name
0:21.6	Chiduthan who wrote two other Psalms.
0:24.2	There are a few really confusing things in this chapter, so let's walk through them.
0:28.2	First, first 10 tells us that God destroyed Rahab.
0:31.6	Crushed Rahab like a carcass is actually what the ESV says.
0:35.5	If you don't have a study Bible and you didn't Google this, you might be like,
0:38.7	I thought they saved Rahab.
0:40.2	I don't recall any carcass crushing.
0:42.3	You're right.
0:43.0	This isn't talking about Rahab the Canaanite.
0:45.5	The words are spelled the same in Hebrew, but pronounced differently,
0:49.2	kind of like our words wind and wind or live and live.
0:52.9	This version of the word most likely refers to either Egypt or to a mythological beast
0:57.6	who causes chaos.
0:59.2	So this verse is either showing God's victory over a world power or just over chaos itself.
1:04.9	You may have also seen in verse 27 that David is called the first born here,
1:08.9	and that may be confusing, because as we've talked about previously,
1:12.3	Jesus is the first born.
1:14.1	Yes, and yes, two firstborns.
1:16.6	Actually three.
