0:07.0	One of the things you may notice as we drop into Chronicles from time to time is that things
0:17.2	aren't always in the same order. It can be confusing and frustrating sometimes but
0:21.7	remember that there won't be a quiz at the end of this.
0:24.9	Being able to follow the timeline is super helpful, but our main focus is to see who God is.
0:30.7	Besides, most of the time it isn't actually confusing at all. It just requires a little
0:34.4	mental adjusting if the storyline moves backward a step instead of forward.
0:39.4	We open today with David making plans to move the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem, the newly seized, newly named,
0:45.2	capital of the nation of Israel. You may recall from back in 1st Samuel 4 that the Philistine
0:50.6	stole the Ark in a battle, and when Eli the priest heard the news, he fell over and died.
0:56.5	God plagued the Philistines as long as they had the arc, so they decided to get rid of it by sending it away
1:01.7	on milk cows.
1:03.4	According to 1st Samuel 6th, the cows went first to the Israelites in Beth Shemesh,
1:08.6	but they mistreated the art and several of them died.
1:11.6	So they sent it to the home of a man named Abenad in Kiryeth Jarem.
1:15.7	It remained there as long as Saul was king, probably because Saul didn't understand its
1:20.5	value to the people of Israel. It was considered the earthly
1:23.9	throne of God after all. David does see its value though. He seeks counsel from
1:30.0	God, other leaders, and even the people as he plans to bring the art to Jerusalem.
1:35.0	He decides to assemble the entire nation for this event.
1:38.7	But there is one problem from the start.
