Summary

Welcome to a powerful journey beyond the present moment. In this series, you're going to explore the profound and liberating concept of leaving a legacy—not just in the things you do, but in the person you are. Each meditation is a guide to help you live a more intentional life, so that your kindness, courage, and unique spirit will create a positive ripple effect for generations to come. Your life is a masterpiece, and it's time to realize the beautiful impact you are already making. It's time to build your living monument.

This series is a replay from a series I recorded a few years ago. I hope you enjoy a 7-day journey to share the best parts of you for generations to come.

WELCOME TO THIS WEEK'S SERIES:

THE LIGHT YOU LEAVE BEHIND: CREATING A LEGACY

This series is your guide to transforming the energy of anger into something powerful and positive. We'll explore spiritual insights and practices rooted in the chakra system, a concept in Eastern traditions that describes energetic centers in the body. We'll move from the core of your power to the wellspring of your creativity, culminating in the limitless compassion of your heart.

This is day 1 of a 7-day meditation series, "The Light You Leave Behind," episodes 2303-2309.

Hello, welcome to episode 2,903 of your daily guided meditation.

I'm Mary Meckley, and I am honored to share with you nine years of guided daily meditations.

0:21.6

In this week's series, I'm celebrating a milestone.

0:26.6

It was nine years ago that I started the daily meditation podcast where I shared daily guided

0:33.6

meditations.

0:35.6

And that allowed me to create for you this meditation app, where I share

0:41.4

more deeper, longer guided meditations, more insight, and of course your array of tools that

0:49.5

you have at your fingertips, including your slowdown guide and your daily reflection journal.

0:58.4

So what I decided to do in honor of this nine year milestone is to invite you to go on a quest

1:10.3

because that's how it started for me when I started the daily meditation

1:16.6

podcast it began as a quest it started a little earlier than that though prior to my starting a quest

1:27.1

my mom died and she was relatively young and I remember

1:33.5

how I felt so enriched and I do to this day by her art. She was an artist and she loved to share ordinary events in life through her art.

1:49.6

So she took these ordinary events and elevated them through her art.

1:54.8

She'll have a painting of someone sitting on a bench doing something ordinary, such as reading or eating an ice cream cone.

2:05.2

She has many paintings of glimpses from outside her bedroom window or her kitchen window of her beautiful garden.

2:15.1

She'll take an aspect of a branch or a flower blowing in the breeze.

2:22.8

So she didn't create big landscape, majestic types of paintings. She created art out of her

2:32.3

ordinary daily experiences.

2:35.2

And that is why her art is so meaningful to me because when I look at her art, I know that

2:43.4

that was part of one of her days.

2:47.0

That was part of one of her ordinary days.
