With family, the first undertone is that you should not cut them off. If somebody's son became an atheist, if somebody's brother became agnostic

or whatever else, your relationship with them should not be disconnected.

Someone disbelieving does not necessarily mean the same as the enemy of Allah.

Allah makes a distinction in the Quran with those who don't believe and those who are the enemies of Allah. Those are two separate categories.

What have we done, unfortunately, again, because we love oversimplification. Every disbeliever is an enemy of Allah.

They're not the same. I did a deep dive study of Suru'Metachana, which Allah describes his enemies, right?

So who is the enemy and who's not the enemy?

And I recommend you do that study also

to understand that difference.
