Anthony Davis called this road trip a "get back" series of games, where the Lakers could exact some revenge on teams that had beaten them recently, or in the case of Minnesota, repeatedly. And get back is exactly what they've done, sweeping the first three games of the roadie following Sunday's 134-109 win over the Rockets in Houston. The Lakers didn't have the intensity turned up to 11, but they did have the focus high on the dial. They defended Houston without fouling (only 10 FTs for the Rockets) and didn't fuel Houston's offense with dumb turnovers (only five on the night). Meanwhile, a super-efficient offense meant the Rockets couldn't really get out and run all that effectively, either, because at 56% shooting, the Lakers were forcing them to take the ball out of the basket all night. LeBron had a cruise control triple double, Anthony Davis went for 40 (and didn't seem to work that hard to get it) and Rui Hachimura played a second straight strong game defensively, and added 20 points on the other end. With the win, the Lakers moved back into 7th in the conference, and now sit only a half game behind the Warriors and Clippers. They have the tiebreaker on Golden State, and play the Clips on Wednesday. Keep winning, and they keep moving up.
