Welcome to the Audible, presented by Trader Joe's. I'm Stuart Mandel, joined as always by Bruce Feldman. For this episode,

look, this is a very, and I feel like I've been saying this for three months, this is such an

unusual time to be hosting a college football podcast. And we know that some listeners would

probably prefer if every single week, Bruce and I got on here and just analyze depth charts

and just talk strictly football. But obviously that's just not the reality we're living in right now.

The biggest stories in college sports right now pretty much all involve real life headlines

and certainly the most notable one this week, was the situation at Oklahoma State

and Mike Gundy wearing a t-shirt that his players clearly took exception to because of racist

associations with OAN, the network that he had on that t-shirt, and Chuba Hubbard, Oklahoma State

star running back, a Heisman candidate goes on Twitter and shocks

everybody by saying that this is unacceptable and he doesn't, he basically was threatening to boycott.

And we've seen other situations like this.

I mean, this is just as the Black Lives Matter movement has just taken off nationally,

we're seeing basketball players all around the country

speaking out on things that we wouldn't necessarily have expected before all this.

So we think it's important to delve into some of the ones that are in the news right now.

And to do that, we're bringing on our colleague David Ubin.

David has covered the Big 12 for a long time in his career.

He covered Tennessee for us now.

And we thought it was very important to have a black writer on for this discussion.

As you'll see during the interview, David has a perspective that much needed that I don't think Bruce and I would have necessarily reached on our own.

So he's also got a very special podcast coming out on this topic very soon that he's going to talk about.
