Hello. Hello, everybody. I am David Ubin with the athletic. I cover Tennessee. A very sort of special, I don't even know what we would call this, a Zoom roundtable podcast. It doesn't matter. But we have, we find ourselves in an interesting moment

in American sports, specifically college sports. We have players at Texas saying they're going to

hold out if statues that glorify racists are not removed, buildings renamed. They don't want to sing the eyes of Texas.

Obviously at Oklahoma State, Mike Gundy, Chuba Hubbard, they find themselves in an interesting

situation. Obviously, a lot of this has come in the wake of George Floyd's killing at the hands

of police earlier this summer. And this is sort of bled over into sports and so before we get

started I want to introduce myself again I'm David up and I cover Tennessee for the

athletic I'm joined by Ryan Clark Ryan you used to cover Florida State you cover the

Colorado avalanche for us at the athletic Colton Pouncey Colton covers Michigan State for us

at the athletic C.J. Holmes C.J. covers Michigan State for us at the athletic.

You have now moved a short jaunt across the country to Las Vegas to cover the Raiders in the NFL.

You know, before we get started, I want to zoom out a little

bit because I feel like I'm mostly interested in pragmatism a little bit. I have very little

interest in kind of preaching to the choir. I think, you know, if you guys are sort of on board and

are like, you know what, there's things that are wrong in the country.

I want to help fix it. That's great. But I think that we would like to address more, at least

from my perspective, two camps. I think there's two things that I hear a lot. One, all this is so

overblown. Everyone's so sensitive now. You know, toughen up. Racism's nothing like it used to be.
