guest who I think is a little bit skeptical of it but bear me out for now.

In the middle of this pandemic it's very hard to know how we're doing.

It's very easy to focus on all of the stories of failure, on the miserable failure

of Donald Trump, on the people at the individual level who are not living up to the moral duty of insurance social distancing at the moment.

But I wonder whether looking back at this moment we might not perceive it despite all of the

suffering and all of the failures we are witnessing as one of the more

optimistic moments in human history is one of the bigger achievements of human
