And I'm Charlie Gibson, and we're delighted to bring you another episode of the bookcase for your listening and dancing pleasure.

As always, we're glad you could join us.

And we have a really, an interesting author this time to bring

you whose work you know, but you don't know it. He is primarily a screenwriter or has been

through his career, David K-O-E-P-P, and his new book is Aurora. How would you describe it, Kate?

Well, first of all, I love that we're doing this for your dancing pleasure, because I will be beatboxing later.

Secondly, he does huge, epic screenplays. He's done Spider-Man, he did Jurassic Park. He is one of the most commercially

successful screenwriters in Hollywood. So the idea

that he'd want to write a novel at all is, I'm thankful for it because I love his work, but it's

surprising. But this book is really, I would say, apocalyptic in nature. It's about the possibility

of a solar flare being so big that it knocks out power and

connectivity and communication around the entire Earth. And it talks about how people deal with that.

And it's a thriller. And I loved it. I'm so excited we're talking about a thriller on today's show.

It's basically my favorite genre, and I loved this book. I could not put it down. I read it in 24
