0:56.1	Hawaii. Hawaii has the least number of coronavirus infections adjusted for population of any
1:02.1	state in the union. It also has the least deaths. I interviewed Governor Ige to understand how
1:08.2	Hawaii achieved these remarkable results. It is true that Hawaii is surrounded by water, so controlling infection by outsiders is easier.
1:16.6	But there's no doubt in my mind that if some of the governors of other states were the governor of Hawaii,
1:21.6	the results would not be the same.
1:24.6	Governor Ige was born and raised in the Pearl City area of Honolulu. He attended
1:28.9	the University of Hawaii where he got a degree in electrical engineering. He worked for GTE-Hawaiian
1:34.5	Tell after college. He started his political career in 1985 when Governor George Arioshi
1:40.8	appointed him to fill a vacant seat in the Hawaii House of Representatives.
1:45.3	He and his wife have three children.
