Hey everybody, it's Chris. We've got another great interview for you today. This is going to be super fascinating.

0:04.6

I'm really excited to talk to Dr. David Hanscombe. David Hanscombe, medical doctor, wrote this book.

0:10.8

Do you really need spine surgery? And Dr. Hanscom is the second medical doctor I've interviewed,

0:19.8

who was a spine surgeon that actually

0:23.6

tries to talk his patients out of spine surgery.

0:27.6

And I'm really, really fascinated to dig into this because I think, I mean, it's, this is kind of a personal, funny anecdote, but a lot of

0:39.5

people have seen this movie, Dr. Death, right? The, either they listen to the podcast or they

0:45.1

watched the series online. And that's about a doctor named Christopher Dunch, who was this sort of

1:20.9

but anyway dr hanscom thanks for taking the time to do this thank you chris i'm excited to be here

1:27.2

and this is going to be a tricky topic for me,

1:29.8

because we, you know, I try to see the solution side, but unfortunately, the doctor's death story

1:35.5

is extreme, but probably 80% of spine surgery should not be done. And if you go through a procedure

1:42.3

that shouldn't be done, you're at risk.

1:50.8

And I finally quit my practice in 2019 to do what I'm doing full time. And it turns out we're doing spine surgery on anxiety. And it doesn't work. And it turns out most symptoms in the body

1:57.7

are based on the body's physiology. And let me define physiology for a second,

2:01.8

is it is how your body runs. In other words, you have a car, and we turn the car on, that's

2:06.8

quote the physiology of the car, right? The spark plugs, the timing, how it runs, etc. And the body

...
