as recently as two generations ago, a man could grow up and they would become secure in their

masculinity, almost just by osmosis, that they've got to be tough, they've got to be strong,

even if they were bookish in some ways, or even if they didn't necessarily want to be, or,

you know, a lot of the physicality of life flattened the differences in men

and sort of pushed men in this one particular direction. And that was what being a man was about.

Well, now, now it does not happen by osmosis. It has to happen by intention.
