us. It's a pleasure to see the two of you. Yeah. How do you define shame?

I mean, that's obviously the focus of this half hour.

So let's start with what's your definition of it?

Because I think we all kind of have a sense of it.

But how do you see it?

It's very important to define because most of the way people think of it is not useful enough.

Most people think of shame as a terrible, humiliating feeling.

And very little bit of shame shows up that way.

Most shame people don't recognize and don't have any clear feelings about at all.

For instance, let's imagine that you learn to believe that you're not very intelligent.

Don't believe that, right?

But let's say you grew up with people saying you're not very smart and you believe it.

You would just think, I'm not very smart.
