But today we're going to talk about one of my favorite subjects, which is coffee with good friend of mine. You know, Tony, I don't even know your last name because your coffee Tony on my phone, but Tony with dark timber coffee.

Burlison. Burlison. Gotcha. Yeah, you've always been for what four years now. You've been coffee Tony. I shouldn't even say that on public. But you're kind of like a coffee master. I didn't know you'd been into that long. You've been working in the coffee industry for almost 16 years.

Yeah, it's a long time. Yeah, I started out pretty young. You know, I made my first espresso drink when I was like seven at a family telling in Seattle downtown. And then, you know, just kind of kept that love of coffee since then.

And I was nice. I saved up all my money and bought my first espresso cart and found a little location for that. And it just rolled from there.

And from there, I had two locations in Seattle, one cafe, one grocery and cafe. And then sold that went off for a bigger company, curing, creating a program for them for 11 years.

And then from there, I stepped away and started dark timber coffee.

Gotcha. And my wife is Italian in a coffee snob and she loves your coffee. I didn't use your coffee as much initially until you got the like the vapor packs and then the kind of the tea packets.

And it is and I'm a Colombian guy. So there is extremely flavorful. Where now you've got the the mountain baker mocha, which is what my favorite.

Yeah. Which said because now I don't have to mix hot chocolate and coffee. I just just pour that in. Yeah. Well, yeah, you're you're from Washington. Then originally or or yeah, man, born right right here in Western Washington.

Yeah. Well, and with the dark timber, how long ago? Has it been three years since you started that to three?

Yeah, it's it was starting to 2017. Like late May. I think it's like I kicked it off. So coming up on.

Yeah. And it it it was cool for me to see because I you know, before I had been using Starbucks for a long time and then I used black rifle a little bit and I'm always for supporting the little man.

And obviously you and I always obviously knew each other and been friends. And then when you got going. Yeah, it was super cool. And then when you came out with kind of the tea packs, that was good. And then you came out with the vapor packs, which was even better. And since I'm kind of a caffeine addict to begin with the vapor packs are handy because I actually keep those in my day pack in my EDC pack like around town.

Because all I need is hot water and I can make my little hot chocolate thing. Exactly. You know, a lot of guys keep around and they'll just keep them in their truck and we'll run into a gap facing just grab some some free hot water and just, you know, make them.

Yeah. And you know, one thing I keep a stove and my truck all the time. You know, I'm a gear junkie anyway. So I have a.

Yeah, it's a MSR reactor. I keep under my seat all the time just for that reason. But I got a little go back under there just so, you know, with with coffee is part of what's in the go back.

But well, how much I know Jack shit about coffee other than I like to drink it. How often are you having to travel because of that? Because I know you talked about, you know,

different, you know, different roasts and flying and yeah, which I didn't know there. I thought it was just coffee, but as I drink different coffee, all coffee is not the same. I have learned that.
