My guest in this interview recorded on the 9th of October is on the diplomatic front line,

as the Israeli military seeks to deliver crushing blows on its enemies across multiple fronts.

Danny Danon was this summer appointed Israel's ambassador at the United Nations in New York

by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. It is Mr. Danon's second go at the job. He did it from

2015 to 20 after making his name as a hawkish Likud MP and government minister in the decade before that. Now he's one of his country's highest

profile advocates as the diplomatic pressure mounts. The year-long Israeli assault on Gaza,

triggered by Hamas's murderous attack on southern Israel, has killed more than 42,000 Palestinians

according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza.

The IDF operation continues, despite concerted international efforts to get a ceasefire.

And the flames of war have spread.

Israel is now at war in Lebanon.

Thousands of troops are on the ground.

Beirut is being bombed,

as bin Yamin Netanyahu seeks to end the military threat from the Iranian-backed militia,

Hezbollah, once and for all. And it's on Israel's escalating conflict with Iran,

where much of the diplomatic attention and alarm is currently focused.

Israel is poised to strike the Islamic Republic hard, having been hit by a fuselade of Iranian missiles just days ago. The international community is desperate to see de-escalation.

Israel appears intent on deploying its military might. But to what end? Can force

deliver Israel the security it craves? Well, Ambassador Danny Danon joins me now on the line from
