Welcome back on script listeners. This is Matt Lynch. I'm co-host with Matthew Bates.

We hope that you are enjoying what we're doing here. Matt and I have been having a blast doing this,

and because of that, we're going to have an episode soon where it's just the two of us

talking about questions that have arisen out of the episodes that we've

hosted over the last year and also fielding some of your questions. And I'd also like to

quiz Matt a bit on his book he's got coming out, Salvation by Allegiance alone, and a few other

things. And we have probably a special announcement in that episode so you'll have to

wait to hear what that is so that's uh that's all exciting stuff coming up soon the episode this

week is on human christology in the gospels and our guest is j daniel kirk and he's written a fascinating and controversial book called

A Man Attested by God.

And this is sort of part of a larger series that Matt and I have been informally putting together

on Christology in the New Testament.

And if you look back through our archives, you'll find episodes with Richard Hayes, Chris

Tilling, and Crispin, Fletcher, Louis.

And there's been a sort of upsurge in New Testament studies on Jesus divinity, especially

in the Gospels, which is a position I'm personally persuaded of,

but I found Kirk's book as a critical pushback against allowing Jesus' divinity

to do all the heavy lifting in explaining the exalted claims made about Jesus

and in explaining some of the more miraculous and

amazing things that Jesus did. So I hope that wherever you land on the divine Christology and

Gospels debate, that you hear him out and feel the force of his challenge because I found it

really helpful.
