But dogs are very much the backbone of Britain.

Even the bulldog in the Union Jack is a symbol of great times past.

Now, a committee of MPs want people that own dogs to go on a dog awareness course

if their pet causes anyone a minor injury.

Well, guess what?

If you've got a dog, you've already got a dog awareness course.

It's called having a dog.

It's a nanny stay all over again

and yet another opportunity to punish people

who haven't done anything wrong.

What MPs should really tackle

is the useless, dangerous dogs act.

Dog attacks have almost doubled to around 8,000 a year since 2005, and something has got
