it's 22 years ago and as i do every year i would like to shout out to the detectives that I was with that day in response to ground zero.

Detective William Hicks, Detective Zedekiah Jennings, and Detective Jimmy James Zarakis.

We always don't our model, as is the Honor Legion of the NYPD, Fidelis Ed Mortem.

And no one that responded that day from the FDNY, from the NYPD, from the Port Authority, any EMS, court officers, all first responders that responded, FBI, federal agencies, ATF.

did lose their lives that day. And as we know, 343 firemen, the single worst event in the

history of New York City, probably in the history of the world, losing 343 firemen. Just the days and weeks and months after what, it was just,

I don't know how people that were members of the fire department dealt with all that grief,

just horrific.

And the NYPD itself wasn't immune to grief that day.

We lost 23 of our officers that day.

And there were many, many heroes that day.

And many would argue just being a responder makes you a hero.
