So much of the news cycle keys off of what the Press Secretary relays to the

Press Corps and then what everybody else talks about the rest of the day.

It's a role I've always wondered about.

Press Secretary's job is to represent the White House, so there's a lot of spin built into that

position, but I wanted to know, are they winging it, or do they sit down with the President

on most issues and figure out his position?

Are they in the Oval Office when presidents make those massive decisions that we later hear about?

What's the job actually like?

We're going to see press secretaries the rest of our lives.

Let's figure out what they're about.

So I am today interviewing Dana Perino.

She's a prime time political commentator,

a host on The Five on Fox News,

and alongside Chris Steyer Walt, the host of the podcast I'll tell you what

but she got her start in media as a press secretary for George W Bush as in

she was in Iraq with W. That time an Iraqi threw a shoe at him.

She was right there and in fact she got injured.

I'll ask her about that in a minute.
