David, after criticizing ESPN's no politics policy, Dan Lebitard said he was not in the right frame of mind to be on his radio show Monday according to sports business journal.

What I want to know is, if you didn't want to do this podcast today, how would you have described your mental state?

What's the old Southern phrase that was like sent for and wouldn't cut and couldn't come? You know that one?

No, I don't.

Yeah, that's just sort of just like I didn't want to show or I wasn't in the mood for showing up.

Yeah, the brine was sent for and couldn't come today.

I feel like we've seen a lot of celebrities who are maybe politicians who quit their job, site exhaustion, right?

Mental exhaustion? That's kind of a nice kind of, I'm just going to simply exhaust it.

I think of it where you or I, or even somebody who produces a show.

The correct answer that you couldn't give would be I'm currently asleep.

Yeah, just earlier today, Brian Stelter tweeted a quote from Lebitard today saying that he was upon his return saying,

quote, I'm a little scared, a little nervous. I'm walking a bit of a tightrope.

So, you know, the metaphor is didn't end on day one.

They're still going. I think that I would have been a little bit more sympathetic if he said he was, you know, his nervous is a cat in a room full of rocking chairs to go on the air today.
