Simple reminder, a dramaturg is just a researcher that usually gives background information on, like, theatrical productions,

and helps put

dramatic pieces of work into cultural context. They're like an entertainment historian. And a

reality TV dramaturg just does that for reality TV because it's real art too. It's storytelling.

It has a beginning, middle and end and a bunch of wild characters just like every other kind of

storytelling from Greek tragedies to Shakespeare. And the characters we see on reality TV

aren't trashier or less complex than any other characters and any other thing you watch. They

just have more hair extensions and, like, unexplained wealth on reality TV. It's just a different

aesthetic. And as usual,
