Jesus said, man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the

mouth of God. You're listening to Daily Truth. We must be very careful not to call

what our Lord Jesus himself calls an enemy, our friend.

That should be a warning to us.

When Jesus calls something an enemy, and you and I call it our friend,

death is not our friend.

Death is not beautiful. Death is not natural. Death is a vivid

reminder that each of us have rebelled against God and that our God is holy, holy, holy. And that he

justly sins his righteous judgments toward those who sin against him. In Genesis chapter 5,

our text today is God's memento mori. It is a reminder of the death bell that tolls for all

save one in our text. And we'll look at the person of Enoch here in a moment.

But you and I must understand that death is coming for each of us.

Our culture tries to distract us from death.

Our culture attempts to hide death behind a corner.

And so where it's something that we don't think about.

It's something that we don't truly acknowledge.

And when certain things happen in our culture, certain natural disasters,

certain current events, war and all these kinds of things, where death is so prevalent, it is
