US confirmed Omicron cases grow by 25% in 24 hours and COVID infections triple in Hawaii

and Florida experts warn the goal cannot be to avoid infection at all costs, millions

expected to test positive in the coming weeks.

That's a headline on a daily mail piece right now giving you a sense of what's going on

now with COVID, surging across the country 24 hours over 120,000, I'm sorry, the daily

average as of December 19, 133,000 cases.

What is going on here?

We are joined now by somebody who can actually lend some expertise to that question.

What's going on?

We've got cases all across the country.

We've got lines of hundreds of people at testing sites all over the city and folks going

on TV saying, I'm sick, but I was vaccinated.

I don't understand.

How is this such a surprise to so many people?

Well, we've got two different things happening.

One is Omicron and the South African doctors who first described it said early on, don't

panic over this.

And now they're saying, hey, we told you not to panic.
