Good morning in the news this morning.

An 82-year-old woman was killed Thursday evening in a hit and run crash in the Somerton section of the city. The crash happened at 6 o'clock at Hendrick Street near Bustleton Avenue. Investigators say the 82-year-old woman was hit possibly by a black jeep that left the scene or they're saying maybe a dark-colored jeep. She was carrying a roller bag at the time of the crash. Roads around the area were shut down while authorities investigated.

We did find some broken parts that appear to be from a vehicle, so possibly they're from the striking vehicles.

Said Philadelphia Police, Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact police.

They're also checking surveillance video in the area to see if any of the businesses that are there.

There's a lot of businesses have a video that may have seen something or caught something on

their cameras.

Terrible. The father of an 18-year-old football star who was accidentally shot to death by his twin

brother turned himself into authorities on Thursday. Alim Gilliard is now charged with involuntary

manslaughter and weapons violations in connection with his son's death authority said.

Fayyad Gillard was initially charged with murder, obstruction of justice and other offenses in the December 1st death.

Charges were dropped against him on Wednesday.

Police responded to a 911 call on the 1100 block of North 63rd Street.

When they arrived, they found

18-year-old Sahel Gilliard with a gunshot wound to his chest. In a news conference on Wednesday afternoon,

prosecutors said the shooting happened at the home of Aleem. Prosecutors said that he was showing the

teens how to use the weapon when it fired. Alim is a felon and should not have been in possession
