In the news, this morning, Cruz removed the box surrounding the Christopher Columbus statue in South Philadelphia's Marconi Plaza on Sunday night. The box surrounded the statue for two years. On Friday, a judge ruled it to be removed. Attorney George Bacchetto, who represents the statue supporters, said in a statement he is delighted that the rule of the law still matters. City of Philadelphia spokesperson Kevin Lass, said the city is very disappointed in the court's ruling. We continue to believe that the Christopher Columbus statue, which has been a source of controversy in Philadelphia, should be removed from its current position at Marconi Plaza, Lassard said. They should have remove the box and have David Copperfield be there. That would have been a great trick. Yeah, for two years.

The legal fight over the statue began with Mayor Jim Kenney's decision to take down the statue

in the summer of 2020 during the George Floyd protests that erupted in cities across the country, including Philadelphia.

The announcement Sunday that a Libyan man suspected in 1988 bombing of a passenger jet

has been taken into U.S. custody, put the spotlight back on the notorious terrorist attack.

The suspect Abu Agali Masad Kira al-Marimi is accused of building the bomb that destroyed

a Pan Am flight over the Scottish town of Lockerbie. The attack killed all 259 people aboard the

plane and 11 on the ground. The majority of those killed were Americans. 34 years later, the

public's memories of the attack have largely faded despite developments in the case that have intermittently returned it to the headlines.

The nurse who took care of my mother when she was at home and she was in hospice, her husband

and son died on that.
