Kathy's out. I'll handle the news duty.

And we are starting with some sad news.

Bob McGrath, beloved Sesame Street cast member and singer has died.

He was 90 years old.

The Sesame Workshop confirmed the news.

McGrath, an original cast member was part of the Sesame Street family for over 50 years.

I think he's the first person associated with Sesame Street that I remember.

I mean, he's the iconic guy.

He was of the live characters.

He was probably my favorite one.

I remember as a kid.

And we had the chance to talk to him over the years, and he was just a sweet gentleman.

Sesame Workshop released his statement in a series of tweets on Sunday saying that they will be

forever grateful for his passionate and creative contributions to the show.

They said in the official statement, Sesame Workshop mourns passing of Bob McGrath, a beloved

member of the Sesame Street family for over 50 years, a founding cast member, Bob, embodied the melodies of Sesame Street like no one else.

And his performances brought joy and wonder to generations of children around the world,

whether teaching them the ABCs, the people in their neighborhood,

or the simple joy of feeling music in their hearts.
