Good morning in the news this morning. Two people are hospitalized after a fiery crash

along Kelly Drive on Boat House Row. It happened at 2 o'clock near Brewery Hill Drive. Police say the driver of a BMW was traveling at a high rate of speed. They left the roadway, headed into the woods, and then the car dropped back down onto Kelly Drive where the vehicle overturned and burst into flames. The passenger was able to get out of the vehicle on his own. However, Cruz had to

cut the driver out of the car. One victim is listed in critical condition. The other is in stable

condition. One of the victims told authorities there might have been a third person in the vehicle.

First responders searched the wooded area in case the third person was ejected. The marine unit

was also called in. However, Cruz later determined only two people were in the BMW at the time of the crash. They say the person may have been confused

after being involved in the crash. Kelly Drive was closed as crew's work to clear the scene.

The roadway has reopened. Tens of thousands of people fled a fast-moving wildfire Thursday in

Northern California. Some clutching babies and pets as they abandoned vehicles and struck out on foot ahead of the flames that forced the evacuation of an entire town and destroyed hundreds of structures.

California fire captain Scott McLean estimated that a couple of thousands, I'm sorry, a couple of thousand structures were destroyed in the town of 27,000 residents, about 180 miles northeast of San Francisco.

Two firefighters and multiple residents were injured. The blaze erupted as windy weather swept

the state creating extreme fire danger. The wildfire was reported around daybreak. Within six

hours, it had grown to more than 26 square miles. A windwit fire north of Los Angeles burned about 15 square miles and at least one home

in a matter of hours.

It threatened thousands of homes and prompted evacuations of a mobile home park, a state

university campus, and some neighborhoods.
