Good morning in the news this morning. Hope Depot's insurance protection are under the spotlight after complaints from some consumers. A recent lawsuit may have some thinking twice before renting a tool from the home improvement giant. Justine O'Brien purchased a new stove from Home Depot in July, but when she didn't prepare, what she didn't prepare for was the additional cost she'd pay for installation damage when they drilled a hole through one of her water pipes.

She said the mishap resulted in about $600 worth of damage and work on October 14th, USP Home, which handles Home Depot's installation insurance coverage, denied her claim saying the investigation failed to reveal liability.

That's when 6ABC stepped in. They contacted Home Depot and they say that

they changed course after they heard from them. A spokeswoman said, we always want to make sure our

customers are taking care of. We want to thank her for allowing us to make this right. Thank you.

O'Brien did finally get a check for the repairs, but a further investigation into Home Depot has found

other insurance and warranty complaints about tool rentals and damage protection.

This is a nationwide issue and has been going on for several years that attorney John Lockett.

A new lawsuit filed by the firm says coverage claims are being unfairly denied.

He was a gearhead. He knew what he was doing. And he was like, yeah, I had to go rent this to him. Like you can rent tools.

Totally alien concept.

What I do is I hire a guy who owns the tool. Yeah, that works too. No, I mean, usually you're renting a tool that is really expensive, but you're probably not going to use all that much. I don't know, like a jackhammer. Or a sibeian. Or a sibeian. which is Jack Hammer is very much to be in like. The wife is similar.
